Welcome to the poor pilot. We are two childhood friends that get bored easily. I got David to join the Army with me, and then I followed him into aviation. Here is a little more about us.

I’m Tony Jimenez.  I was born and raised in Bethlehem, PA.  I did some things like the Army,  College (Penn State),  and jobs (IKEA – supply chain ).  Lived some places like Idar Oberstein,  Baghdad, Philadelphia, Saint Petersburg (FL), and San Diego.

Learned how to sail,  but was bad at going slow.  Realized engines make things faster, so now I’m learning how to fly.

I am a student at Gateway Aviation in Allentown, PA – where I’m working on my private pilot certificate.  I am training on a Diamond DA-20.  Hope to get that tailwheel endorsement soon, then to the Red Bull Air Races.

Hello all! Im David Ongiri, also born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Like Tony I’ve done some cool things like the Army (currently a Chinook pilot), college (LCCC), and worked as an automotive technician at dealerships such as  Chrysler and Audi to name a few.

While working on cars full time and only flying part-time for the National Guard, I realized I needed to find a way to make it a full time gig.  So I enrolled in LCCC’s aviation program. With the help of Gateway Aviation and some funds from the VA, in about six months, I was able to complete my Private, Commercial and Instrument Airplane Single Engine Land ratings.  Any day now I will be taking my multi-engine and CFI checkrides.
